Five award nominations for Opoczno at the 2018 EU Pearls of Ceramics contest
The latest edition of Perły Ceramiki (Pearls of Ceramics) is drawing near. Perły Ceramiki is a popular vote award contest held since 2004 by the editing staff of Wokół Płytek Ceramicznych (“The World of Ceramic Tiles”), an industry quarterly magazine. The competition awards ceramic tiles with the best design and quality. This year’s designs nominated for the awards include five tile models from the Opoczno brand portfolio.
During the third edition of the 2018 EU Pearls of Ceramics contest, a jury of professionals from the fields of industrial design, architecture and interior design nominated 21 tile collections from Polish manufacturers for the prestigious awards. The jury panel members were: Magdalena Kaliszuk-Barańska, an architect; Paweł Balcerzak, representing the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; Jerzy Grochulski and Jerzy Uścinowicz from SARP (Association of Polish Architects); and Krystyna Wiśniewska and Danuta Matynia, editors of “Wokół Płytek Ceramicznych”.
Opoczno brand collections were nominated for the following award titles: Perła Ceramiki UE 2018 (The 2018 EU Pearl of Ceramics), Perła Ceramiki Dystrybutorów 2018 (The 2018 Distributors’ Pearl of Ceramics), and Perła Ceramiki Projektantów – użytkowników CAD Decor 2018 (The 2018 CAD Décor Users’ Pearl of Ceramics). The tiles were evaluated in two product classes － standard and premium － and six categories: wall tiles, flooring tiles, wall and flooring tiles, universal tiles, special tiles, and mega-format tiles.

Our products were acclaimed by the jury in both classes and nearly all categories of the contest.
